BGone

Background Gone

Keep What Matters

Choose a photo. BGone finds the main subject — a person, a pet, an object, or a group — and separates it from the background.

Often, that’s all you need to do.

BGone is deliberately simple. No layers. No brushes. No Photoshop degree required.

“Pick it. BGone it.”

BGone gives you a clean first pass. Most of the time, that’s all you need.

If BGone doesn’t quite keep what you wanted, you can Refine the result without starting again:

  • Add or Delete areas of the image manually.
  • Undo and Redo changes as you work.
  • Preview transparency against a checkerboard, white, black, grey or another background colour.
  • Mirror the result left-to-right.
  • Auto Crop away unnecessary transparent space.
  • Save as PNG to preserve transparency.

Background Gone is an option, not an obligation.

Sometimes completely removing the background isn’t the best result.

BGone’s Refine tools let you experiment. Keep more. Keep less. Soften the separation. Try a different preview background. See what works for the photograph in front of you.

The rule is simple:

Keep what matters.

Your photos stay yours.

BGone processes your photographs on your device.

Your photos are not uploaded to Grime, stored on Grime servers, or used by Grime for advertising.

BGone does use Google AdMob to display advertising, and Google’s own privacy practices apply to advertising data. The contents of your photographs are not used for ads.

Free to use.

BGone is free.

A small banner ad may appear while you’re using the app, and a short interstitial ad may appear after you save an image. That advertising helps pay for BGone’s development and maintenance.

No subscription. No account required.

Not perfect. Useful.

Background removal is hard.

Hair, glass, fine detail, overlapping people, wheelchairs, tables, fences and similar foreground/background colours can occasionally confuse even clever phones.

BGone aims to give you a quick, useful result — not Photoshop with 700 buttons.

And if the first result isn’t quite right, that’s what Refine is for.
